(Please note: this is my views and this doesn’t reflect the views of my fellow Arcaders)

You might have notice in one of my recent editions of Reviews From the Horror Chamber I’ve been whining about two certain people, Harvey and Bob Weinstein, when Diary of the Dead was given a shitty theatrical release and only played on forty-eight screens.

Well it’s now time to really express my displeasure with Bob and Harvey Weinstein. My displeasure started back last year with Grindhouse and its release date. No offense but Easter weekend is a bad time to release a horror film and the fact they haven’t released the theatrical version on DVD with the faux trailers makes me unhappy. You'd think that they wouldn’t make me disappointed again. Actually, they did it again this past November when they released The Mist during the holiday season. The film should have been released in the summer or this past January, as nobody wants to see that type of film during the holiday season. It seems like you guys want to wait for your profit on DVD. But that didn’t get me that angry as much, until the Fanboys controversy came along.

Fanboys is a film that I was looking forward to seeing for almost a year. It pissed me off when I heard that Fanboys (the reason I’m writing this) was re-shot. The only reason I think, why they didn’t like Kyle Newman’s version, was the fact it had a story within the actual film. The Weinstein’s must have decided that it wouldn’t sell to audiences because it had no obnoxious gross-out humor or topless women in the film. So they had to fire him and bring in a hack like Steven Brill to do their bidding.

Hello Mr. Star Wars himself, George Lucas approved of Newman’s version of the film. It was sure to make some money, as Star Wars fans were geeked and excited about it. Well it’s time that I react against these two idiots. So Bob and Harvey Weinstein, I'm dropping a ban on both of you. As of now, I will not watch any new releases in theaters (including that stupid Superhero Movie or whatever you guys call it) or buy anything that has Harvey or Bob Weinstein’s name in the executive producers credit for six months. I encourage all of you to follow suit.

I've been waiting for this moment. Now it’s time to turn my attention to you Steven Brill (aka Mr. Redo). I know that you have a movie coming out tomorrow. I strongly encourage all the readers here to boycott the new Owen Wilson film Drillbit Taylor that is hitting theaters tomorrow. The film is directed by the guy who thinks he knows what a releasable film is Steven Brill (aka the director of Little Nicky, Without a Paddle and Fanboys: The Redo). Just go back to the news story by clicking here, in which he tries to berate a fan and tells him that he knows nothing about movies and Mr. Brill thinks he knows it all.

Instead of putting in your hard-earned money to this know it all/hack’s pocket, I suggest you move that money into Neil Marshall’s or Jason Reitman’s pockets because those directors care about their films and fight for their vision, as they go out of their way to put forth their best efforts. That’s the type of directors; I want to see, good or bad.

I encouraged you to flood the Weinstein’s companies email boxes and tell them that you want to see Kyle Newman’s version of Fanboys. And when you have a second afterwards, flood Mr. Redo, Steven Brill’s email box at frankhuddy@aol.com and tell him that he is a corporate hack and he doesn’t know what a good movie is.

This six-month ban will last until the Weinstein’s put Newman’s version either on the big screen or on DVD. Trust me, you will support my displeasure on this subject, if they don’t get your money.

Also I encourage you to add the Stop Darth Weinstein myspace page to your friends at www.myspace.com/stopdarthweinstein to show your frustration with the Weinstein’s and Mr. Redo Steven Brill and find out how you can protest the upcoming Superhero Movie.

Please, I suggest everyone to call this cut of Fanboys either FANBOYS: THE REDO or FANBOYS: The COPORATE Version.

Thank you and have a good day.

    Stick it to them.
I wonder if we will ever get to see the original cut of Fanboys.
